In order to evade the Devil’s grasps (inspired by Napoleon Hill’s Unwitting the Devil, and other texts, innumerable), I have defined below my Definite Purposes in key areas of life.

Achieving these aims will require ...

1. positive thinking: dogged and unrelenting focus of mind, again-and-again, what can be called a strong determination to never waiver and to always return again to these definite purposes for how I will live my life. This is to overcome what the Devil calls, “drifting,” or allowing the currents of life to set your fate rather than captaining your own destiny.
2. Foremost to achievement is mastery, and mastery of anything begins with mastery of self. Thus, each definite purpose will have measurements to track my self-mastery. The chief masteries are ...
  1. mastery over indulgence of food,
  2. mastery transmuting sexual energy into creative energy, and
  3. mastery of thought by refraining from the sharing of unsolicited opinions, especially when those opinions are not grounded in wisdom from evidential truths.
3. The ultimate aim is to turn these goals into what the Devil calls, “Natural Rhythms,” whereby one’s nature becomes autonomically and rhythmically aligned with your definiteness of purpose. In the same way portable electronics have created natural rhythms whereby we reach for our device whenever bored, the ultimate aim is to automatically, assuredly, reach towards the behaviors set forth in these goals. That way success will be “baked-into” the fabric of my being. This should mean that cultivating the proper environment will be essential, for environment is stronger than will power.
